Rain water leak into cab
« on: January 24, 2012, 10:05:31 AM »
Looking to see if there is a common leak area on these trucks. Compartment under driver rear seat is soaked, headliner in back is deformed from water. Going to start with the third brake light and make sure it is sealed good but was wondering if someone has had this problem.

Thanks, Joe

Probably 3rd is leaking. But on my DRW 3500 the cab lights leaked and the water would go to the back and leave water stains on the headliner when I was parking nose up in the drive way.  So if you don't have cab lights yours probably aren't leaking  ::)  But if you do have cab lights, I took mine up and put a good glob of silicone around the hole.

Yeah the third brake light AND the cab lights are common leak areas. I pulled all the lens off and went around them with a good clear rtv, a little tedious but solved all the leaks. I had water coming from everywhere, even through the clips for the visor. All dry 3 years later.

Cool thanks. I figured it was the brake light but wanted to see if there was a known body seem or something more difficult to find.
